Q: What’s the difference between Seller Financing and Owner Financing?

A:  They’re essentially the same thing.

Seller financing (or owner financing) is a transaction where the property is sold, and the  owner/seller is also the lender, meaning that there aren’t the associated costs and points of having a bank involved.  That’s how seller financing (when executed properly) can work so well for buyers and sellers both.  In a down market, sellers want to get the best price for their property, even as credit markets drive prices downward and make it difficult for the seller to profit.  As a result, many sellers are turning to seller financing to see things go the way they want them.  Things get complicated, though, when sellers aren’t familiar with the fine points of seller financing (the oldest form of lending), or how to implement it.  This is where Texas Note Company can be a big help.

Robert by nature is a very process minded businessman who believes that when a good process is implemented correctly it protects all parties involved and streamlines the execution.  It is this process mindset that led to the creation of The Texas Note Company Loan Servicing division, a very intensive process and data driven business.

Robert graduated from Southwestern University in 1989 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  He has over 15 years of financial experience including a successful corporate career having worked for Dell Computer, Citibank, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust and Allied Irish Bank.   Robert now pursues his passion for helping people through traditional and innovative real estate transactions.  Robert was born and raised in Houston, Texas but now makes Austin, Texas his home.  He has two beautiful daughters whom he loves spending time with and watching them grow.  He can often be found having lunch with one of his daughters at Hill Elementary or doing a project with the Hill Dillo Dads.  In the spring he can often be found in the dugout coaching his daughter’s kickball team, the Porcupines.   He enjoys Golf, College Football and Lacrosse.
