Surprisingly the Fed opted to keep the Fed Funds rate where it is, I expected the to move them up a 1/4 of a point.  There was much anticipation around the Fed’s decision of what to do with the Fed Funds rate given the state of the economy, with oil prices down and the volatility in the stock market.  A rate increase seems to be warranted.    The move by the Fed comes as global economic and financial developments are hindering economic activity and keeping a lid on inflation.  Check out this article from MPA – Fed Funds.
